Due to the increasing spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 the Maker Faire Delft team has decided with a heavy heart to cancel the Maker Faire Delft. The event should have taken place on June 7th 2020 in the Delft Science Centre.

Why do we cancel?

The RIVM has recently prohibited gatherings up to June 1st. The Maker Faire Delft is now planned on June 7th. Still, we have decided to postpone the event.

Where do we go from here?

  • The Maker Faire Delft team is planning on organizing the first Maker Faire Delft to October 2020. All participants that would have participated in the Maker Faire Delft on June 7th are highly encouraged to proceed this cooperation up till October. We will inform all these participants personally.
  • You would like to present your realized ideas and are interested in passing on your knowledge? We still have enough space for all makers and the Call for Makers is still open!

We would like to thank everyone who wanted to participate in the Maker Faire Delft. Let’s keep up the spirit and get together in October!

The Maker Faire is for everyone who embraces the do-it-yourself spirit and who would like to see or share innovative projects. Makers can join this event to show and share their knowledge and work as an exhibitor, presenter, workshop organizer or performer.

Who are we looking for?

Are you familiar with the latest developments regarding robotics, are you a master at assembling drones or are you a 3D printing artist? Or are you an expert in the field of engineering, science, art, design or craftsmanship? Take your chance and sign up for the first edition of the Maker Faire in Delft.

This call is directed to all makers that are involved in technological innovation, from beginner to professional, for young and old. Please note: the deadline for makers is 13th of April 2020.

After Bangkok, Hannover, Orlando, Eindhoven and many other cities, we are finally bringing the Maker Faire to Delft. This year’s theme will be Made in Delft. Are you a maker or are you in some way interested in technology? Than Maker Faire Delft is something for you.
What is a Maker Faire?
A Maker Faire is a technology festival of inventions, creativity and resourcefulness, organized worldwide for young and old to celebrate the maker community. The Maker Faire offers possibilities by providing a stage for makers. Tech-enthousiasts, hobbyists, parents, artists, engineers, science clubs, amateurs, students and entrepreneurs are brought together to share their projects, ideas and experiences. The Maker Faire is a community based education event which inspires young and old to find the maker hiding inside them and to connect with people and projects in their surroundings. The Maker Faire is for everyone who embrace the do-it-yourself spirit and who would like to see or share innovative projects. Makers can join this event to show and share their knowledge and work as an exhibitor, presenter, workshop organizer or performer.
Why Delft?
During a Maker Faire everything is focused on inventors, makers and experiments. A Maker Faire entails many elements like, playing, learning, making and designing. It has been Science Centre Delft’s mission for years to present these topics in a manageable way for a broad audience. It’s an honor to introduce the Maker Faire Delft!
